I had an amazing time meeting all of you at APAP 2026 in NYC. I met venue managers, talent managers, and other performers from all over the country. I also had the opportunity to introduce the "Connie Converse Universe” to people in a 15 minute showcase where I walk the audience through the music, the story, and the inspiration behind the show. The Connie Converse Universe is a 75-minute acoustic cabaret exploring the life, music, and mystery of trailblazing 1950s songwriter Connie Converse, who vanished without a trace in 1974. When I first heard “We Lived Alone”, I was immediately captivated. Connie’s story haunted me, and I felt compelled to honor someone so ahead of her time. The Connie Converse Universe is a true story, told through her singular and often darkly mysterious music. I weave in my own personal connection to Connie by exploring her whimsical and poignant folk songs as I search for clues to Connie’s self-orchestrated disappearance in August of 1974. The whereabouts and fate of this pioneering musical artist remain unknown to this day, but you can come with me on my journey to honor and celebrate her amazing music and life!
